Since the release of Windows 8, back in October, 2012, users have been complaining that they cannot boot right to the Desktop. There have been many workarounds documented in the internet, but some worked and others did not. Now that frustration for many may see a light at the end of the tunnel as a new line of code in the twinui.dll file, found in Windows 8.1 (build 9364), suggests (according the Microsoft Portal website) that users will be able to jump right to the desktop after signing in on Windows 8.1. It is worth noting that the feature doesn’t appear in the leak version of Windows 8, nor Microsoft is commenting at the moment, but the code shows that Redmond is considering to implement the option.
