According to the Microsoft support page, KB3176936 is a “Servicing stack update for Windows 10 Version 1607: August 23, 2016”. In addition, the support site notes that the update “makes stability improvements for the Windows 10 version 1607 servicing stack.” However, the company doesn’t go much in detail on what’s new on KB3176936, which as soon as testing is completed will roll out to everyone running the Anniversary Update. If you’re unfamiliar, the Release Preview ring is similar to the Fast and Slow rings. The only difference is that users in the Release Preview only get to test cumulative updates, instead of new pre-releases of Windows 10, which include features and changes. Alongside this new servicing stack update, Microsoft also begins the roll out of the cumulative update KB3176934 to everyone running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which was previously only available for those in the Release Preview ring.
