Version 1803 (previously known as the “Spring Creators Update”) is the fifth major release that Microsoft is making available for desktops, laptops, and tablets, and it’s a continuation of the work the software giant brought with the Fall Creators Update. Similar to the previous release, the April 2018 Update brings a number of visual changes as well as a number of new features to improve the overall experience and security of Windows 10....

In April, the software giant announced that Windows 10 will no longer force feature updates on device through Windows Update automatically or when clicking the Check for updates button. Instead, users will receive a notification when the update is ready, and then users will see the choice to initiate the upgrade manually or ignore it without missing monthly quality updates. Now, the new option is already appearing on preview builds of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update....

However, in addition to the new look, features, and enhancements for Windows 11, Microsoft will also remove and deprecate some features original to Windows 10 that may no longer be useful, obsolete, or planned to be replaced with a new experience. In the new version of the operating system, the company plans to remove or deprecate features like Cortana, Internet Explorer, sync wallpapers across devices, S mode, classic Start menu, Tablet mode, Timeline, and others....

On Windows 11, “Stickers” is a feature that allows you to have more fun with the desktop by adding stickers to your wallpapers. In the latest preview build, you have two ways to add stickers to the desktop. You can right-click the desktop and select the “Add or edit stickers” option or click the “Add stickers” button from the Background settings page. Once you invoke the feature, an interface similar to the one for emojis will appear on the desktop, letting you select from a large variety of stickers....

“We are entering a new phase of the rollout for Windows 11, version 22H2, and we are increasing its availability to all who check for updates on eligible Windows devices.” – the company notes. The rollout expansion comes only several weeks after the official launch of version 22H2, which indicates that the feature update is proving to be very stable, despite a few known issues with file copying, gaming performance, and audio drivers....

These minor updates include only several fixes for groups, and there are no new features. Faikee recently posted an image which suppose to be an internal Microsoft information between employees and shows that the preview of Windows 9 is planned to release in Q2-Q3. Previously we heard rumors of Microsoft targeting spring of 2015 as a potential release for Windows 9, and even though now we’re hearing Q2-Q3 time frame just to get a preview release, still isn’t a tremendous time difference, but it is behind schedule....

The Anniversary Update will also make easier for developers to build Windows Ink support into their UWP apps. In addition, Microsoft is also introducing its own Ink Workspace in Windows 10 that will be the place to start for user to use the pen....

Winget zip support According to the official announcement, the winget command now extracts and runs app installers (MSIX, MSI, and EXE) inside a “.zip” file or installs multiple portable packages from the compressed file. Command aliases This update also introduces aliases for commands to make running different actions easier without being specific. The new update bumps the Xbox app to version 3.3.10007.00000 bringing new additions. After the update users will notice new buttons for Achievements, Alerts, Game DVR, and Connect to Xbox. The app now includes the same functionality as the SmartGlass app, which means that users can remote control their Xbox with any Windows 10 device. The new update also brings OneGuide support and the ability to stream and download clips from the community using the Game DVR feature....

According to a statement from the company to The Verge, “to focus on the production of Xbox Series X / S, we stopped production for all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020.” The end of the Xbox One S production puts an end to a game console generation.
