For those using the cloud storage service this is a great news as nowadays we can have files that go over the previous 2GB limit easily, that being from backups, home movies, or from a zip folder full with pictures. And this isn’t just for Windows and Mac, users can also upload files of up to 10GB from mobile devices and the web version of the service. Along with the new larger file support, Microsoft is announcing that has made the syncing process a lot faster, “approximately threefold increase”, all because now OneDrive has an increased number of files that users can upload or download. Faster syncing for OneDrive is rolling out now, but it will take a few weeks to reach everyone. The new 10GB file support and faster syncing puts OneDrive one step closer to be a true cloud storage solution that makes it feel that you’re storing files in an external storage, rather than in the cloud. Among these new big changes Microsoft is also adding two more features to the cloud storage service: now Windows 7 and Windows 8 users can quickly get links from content in OneDrive by simply right-clicking an item and selecting “Share a OneDrive link”, option that will copy the link directly to the Clipboard instead of having to go to the web. And finally, users will be pleased to know that now it’s possible to drag a folder directly to OneDrive.com, and it works in Internet Explorer as well as in Google Chrome.
