As such the company is going through a long process to create the right image that millions of people will see every time Windows 10 boots up for the first time. In a new video that Microsoft published in its official Windows YouTube channel takes you behind the scenes at the making of the Windows 10 default wallpaper. The team behind the image used lasers, pumping smoke machines, colored filters and falling crystal dust, and glass to create the Windows logo. The result is a dark background with light passing through the glass forming the iconic Windows logo. The new image also aligns with the new Windows 10 dark theme.

Microsoft hasn’t said officially that this will be the default Windows 10 wallpaper, but it seems that it will be the case as the title of the video reads “Windows 10 Hero Desktop Image”, which strongly suggests this will be the wallpaper users will start to see on July 29th, when the company launches Windows 10. Although, for many people this should be the least of Microsoft’s worries, every major of Windows shipped with iconic wallpaper that identify the operating system — just remember the default wallpaper for Windows XP or Windows 7.
