The update KB4592438 bumps the version number to builds 19041.685 and 19042.685 for the May 2020 Update and October 2020 Update respectively, and according to the company fixes a security vulnerability with permissions and brings some security patches for various system components. In addition, Microsoft is also making available the same fixes for older versions, including for version 1909, 1903, 1809, 1803, 1703, 1607, and 1507.

Microsoft has announced the KB4592438 update in the Windows support site. If you are already running the Windows 10 October 2020 Update or May 2020 Update, you will fix this problems:
Fixes a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to “FILE:” ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account. Security updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.
You can download the updates to install them manually for version 20H2 or 2004 from the Microsoft Update Catalog website. The update is also available for devices in the Beta and Release preview channels of the Windows Insider Program. Windows 10 version 1909 and 1903 are getting the same fixes, but the update is described as KB4592449, and the operating system gets bump to build 18362.1256 and 18363.1256, respectively. In the case of version 1809, the update is available as KB4592440, and increases the build number to 17763.1637. Finally, Windows 10 version 1803, 1703, 1607, and 1507 are receiving the same fixes, but as update KB4592446, KB4592473, KB4593226, and KB4592464, respectively, which addresses an extra issue that prevents the PDF24 app, version 9.1.1, from opening .txt files as well. These updates also increase the build number to 17134.1902, 15063.2584, 14393.4104, and 10240.18782.
